Mr Simon Mellor featured in national newspaper for muscle-sparing hip replacement technique

For years, Mr Simon Mellor has been performing a hip replacement technique known medically as the Anterior Approach. This technique is already popular in the US and Australia and is now gaining popularity in the UK with positive patient results, thanks to the smaller incisions and muscle-sparing technique used.

The Daily Mail ran an article which featured Mr Mellor and outlined what happens during the procedure. ‘It’s a game-changer. The main benefit of the surgery is you avoid muscle damage. At the end of the operation, the muscles just flop back into place. You generally see less scarring, less post-operative pain, less reliance on painkillers, quicker mobilisation and quicker discharge’ says Mr Simon Mellor.
