Mr Rajiv Bajekal receives Trainer of the Year award

We are delighted to announce that Mr Rajiv Bajekal has been named Trainer of the Year from the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH). Mr Bajekal received the most nominations out of his trainee colleagues working on the rotation. The awards were started three years ago to highlight and recognise outstanding individual contributions to trainee teaching practices.

The trainee colleagues who put forward the nominations for the award were from the Stanmore Hospital rotation, which is widely regarded as the best in the country. The RNOH rotation covers several large teaching hospitals including Barnet & Chase Farm, The Royal Free, The Whittington and North Middlesex. Mr Bajekal’s trainee colleagues nominated him because of his fantastic attitude to training, and more specifically, the extracurricular training he provided – for all trainees from any rotation – on the run-up to the FRCS exit exam.

Mr Rajiv Bajekal is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in Spinal conditions. He is a Senior Examiner for the FRCS Trauma and Orthopaedics exit examination. He takes a holistic approach to managing back pain, offering non-surgical and minimally invasive treatment techniques. Mr Bajekal is also qualified in Lifestyle Medicine and advises all of his patients on healthy lifestyle choices that can aid them through treatment and recovery.
